Birthrights of all children of Mother Earth (1/3)

• No one chose where and to whom he/she was born.

• We were all born in the “amniotic fluid” (biosphere) of our mother, Earth.

• None of our direct biological mothers would be viable without that same “amniotic fluid” either.

• From our present understanding of life and of the universe, there is nowhere else that we could have been born, or could readily survive, that is without specially constructed environs.

Therefore, as children of our mother, Earth, living where she has birthed us, it is our birthright, with all her other sentient offspring, to an equal share of the life sustaining and happiness and success supporting resources that she has provided for the well-being of us all. Earth and her resources are not for private ownership, or only the province of some special, elite, or privileged minority of greedy, brutal, vicious thugs (ruling classes), who claim ownership though divine right, stewardship, or cleverly contrived, “laws,” which they decree, then treacherously and brutally enforce with their hired thugs (police, courts, legislatures, and military). No one can legitimately claim ownership of what produced them, was here long before they were birthed, and will remain long after their species goes extinct, just like the 99.9% of all other species that have ever existed. It’s like the flea claiming ownership of the dog. It would be funny if the consequences of their ownership paradigm weren’t so dire.

  1. My thoughts exactly. I wrote a very angry poem about this for the new year, but I’m wondering if I should post it earlier. I have been exploring the role of the Zeitgeist in society and civilization. We are mere pawns in this game the elite are playing. I can’t think of a solution. The role of the artist may be to reform the spirit of the times through criticism, into something more palatable to the human conscience. Ah, this is a long comment, but I have been thinking about this a lot these past two days.
