The ruling classes, the rich elite (in their own minds) claim ownership and stewardship of all the discovered and undiscovered resources and the land masses of the planet. Ninety-nine percent of humanity lives at the “pleasure,” beck and call of this one percent. The rest live in wage slavery and servitude, or as outcasts in the elite’s garbage dumps, or in the most primitive states in the remotest and most hostile regions of the planet, many of which are war torn and under the control of marauding thugs and war lords (with weapons provided them by the ruling classes and their military-industrial complexes). It’s time for a paradigm shift!

A paradigm shift is on the cards for us. Either that or human extinction. That’s the way it seems to be going, IMHO. I have been thinking about freedom and police states (My thoughts aren’t well formed just yet). There seems to be two opposing forces at work in society, keeping a fragile balance between them. Or maybe it’s like a perpetual motion pendulum.
More freedom =more law enforcement to guard those freedoms, a power which can be misused quite easily, and lead to dire consequences. If we were all enlightened beings, this would not be necessary, and civilization wouldn’t be a zero sum game.

Agree, a paradigm shift is coming or probable extinction. When, who knows? But, ‘freedoms’ = ‘more law enforcement’? Not so much. That is the anthem of authoritarians, the ruling class. There are many ways around that oxymoron, but it will take community, democratic decision-making, and the willingness to retract the ‘authority’ given once its dire need has passed. Authority should never be given without time and conditions limits… and ended once its conditions and limits are reached.
It has very little to do with ‘enlightened beings’ and everything to do with freedom and the will of the community to ensure it. Yes, this is actually the type of anarchy espoused by Chomsky and others… like me…; -)

The little I know of Chomsky has impressed me. I should read more of his work.
I do not see the community coming together for this. The authorities are controlling society by creating divisions and strife. As long as we are so easily distracted by hate, communalism, etc the will of the community cannot be relied upon.

For now… but it must, eventually, or distopia and extinction… That’s all I can see for now, but on a positive note, consciousness does seem to be rising among the younger generations… so there’s still a least a little room for hope.
