Birthrights of all children of Mother Earth (3/3)

Where the Declaration of Independence declared the “unalienable Rights” of all men, the Constitution substituted the rights of the wealthy to property and power. It is not a “holy” document. It can, and has been changed multiple times over its history (usually to the benefit of power and money). I mentioned a paradigm shift. The Constitution seems to me a perfect place to start that shift; perhaps a new constitution, perhaps a “peoples’ constitution” instead of an “overlords’ constitution?”

How about human rights trumping property rights? How about the health and welfare of all trumping the greed of the wealthiest, most powerful, predatory few (and their lackeys)? Yes, I know this is not an easy proposition, but certainly worth consideration. It’s long past time for a new paradigm!

  1. I’m going to try and comment again, because it seems like my first one was lost in the WordPress Void… either that or I may have been a touch more drunk than I thought at the time.
I really enjoyed your series and think that there is still a lot more to explore. You brought up some very interesting ideas, giving us a good taste of what’s brewing.
By talking about it more on public platforms, we might sow the seeds for a paradigm shift. The culture has to change first, before the laws can.
