Reality an Idea
Humans have
The gift of words
To express and inform
What’s real
And what’s not
Make us soar
Or cry and deplore
Set us up
For the big fail
Unquestioningly
Consumed as real
They express ideas
Symbols physical
Mental audible
Thoughts individual
Cultural universal
Swimming in
Graymatter domes
Can be changed
At whim and will
The cryptic tomes
Of Reality

What a profound poem, Liam. If only it were that easy. Our present reality enslaves our thoughts and ideas, where the idealist outlier is beaten into submission, and the dreamer is made dumb. Maybe I’m being too cynical…

Yes, that is exactly the meaning of ‘the big fail’. We all, to some extent, are too credulous in accepting the petrified norms, concepts, and symbols of so called ‘reality’, that not only can and do change, but MUST change if we’re to survive as a species… IMHO…; -)

I see what you mean. We already have everything we need to get better. We just don’t know it yet. ‘Better’ because I do not think we can reach full on transcendence in just one step. The paradigm has always changed very gradually throughout history; centuries of slavery, discovery, ‘enlightenment’ and conquest before the Industrial Revolution, for example. Not a very good example, but I can’t think of anything better right now.

Yes, that’s a big part of it. But we won’t (can’t) all ‘transcend’ together. Even though we’re all more or less the same spiritually, metaphysically speaking, our ‘transcendence’ is naturally staggered, non-synchronous, due to individual differences in space/time, internally and externally… including our personal mental, physical, spiritual proclivities…; -)
