Soon I saw Bobby Kennedy murdered by Sirhan Sirhan, and my thoughts of Beauty, Truth, and Justice started to disappear like morning dew in the heat of midday. Dr. King was Murdered next. Then I watched as students and news reporters got their heads beat in by the Chicago police in the summer of 1968 at the Democratic Convention while listening to cheers from my father. “It’s about time those lousy pinkos got what they deserved,” he yelled. And a rage in me began that to this day has not been quenched.
My optimism returned to some extent as I watched the first steps of man on the moon in the summer of 1969. I felt that the Aquarian Age had arrived, with its promised brotherhood and justice for all, that Truth, Beauty, and Justice were to finally prevail.
