Morning Darkness

fading
the lying
angry voices
violently
crying

alone again
trying
sighing
dying

searing pain again
makes mortality plain
constant wishing for
healing rain

but that’s OK
we’re all to blame
only a game
our claim to fame
pretty lame
goofy even

I forget
which is
first man
his brian
are they
same – same

now an end
before my bane
sends that
vaunted brain
down that
proverbial
drain

again
