Yes, it was. That is the song that I wrote about from his Cleveland concert where he ‘made love to his guitar, then set it on fire’. So, I saw him perform that same act as in the video from Monterey the year before….; -)

Yes…. and I wasn’t afraid to hitchhike either when I was between ‘wheels’…; -)

Probably so. Not only did I have that youthful feeling of invulnerability, I had several years of MA training and competition under belt too. So, yes, way overconfident…; -)

Usually, it’s safer for a man to hitchhike than it is for a woman—but not always. A few years ago, my brother-in-law picked up a harmless-looking female hitchhiker and got stabbed and robbed. Luckily, he survived.

I haven’t hitched in years. The last time I was picked up by a guy who was tripping so badly that he asked me to drive. I did, and after getting out, he proceded to back his car into a phone pole, then into the guard rail, then drove off. Also, there were more and more stories about muggings and robberies with/from hitching. I had also married and was beginning a family. So, I quit hitching, and I also quit picking up hitchers… yes, even with my over-confidence…; -)
