Winter’s In The Air
now the leaves have fallen
they’re lying on the ground
autumn’s many colored blanket
has turned a brittle brown
and now we wait for winter
wearing his hoary crown
he steals our body’s heat
and chills us to the bone
his arrival brings the holidays
to warm our hearts again
the solstice and the new year
joys to tide us till spring

Kate, I’m flattered that you like them… your winter poems and paintings are an inspiration to me…; -)

I like all your paintings, Liam. You have the knack of using color for expression and mood. And you write excellent poetry. Sometimes, one doesn’t see in their work what others see.
As for being an inspiration—you flatter me.

Thanks, but flattery was not my intention; just truth…; -)
