50+, Temp Work, and Divorced Round 2 – Part 1

After a couple of years of being ‘single’, during which time I did have a couple of very short-term dating experiences, I met someone who would become my long-term partner and confidant. I’ll get into how we met soon, but for the present, suffice it to say that I found a compatible companion, who helped me get through the trying times that were starting to swallow me whole.

I picked up my first temp job other than subbing after Kinetico. I worked for a couple of months for PPI Technical Publishing, Inc. updating manuals for Picker gamma cameras. Picker was being bought out at the time, and PPI lost its contract for manuals. So I was let go.

A couple of months later, I got a longer temporary assignment from VOLT Services to Rockwell Automation in Euclid, OH, to work with their engineers, updating and writing manuals for their steel mill SIGMA software. The job lasted until shortly after the 9/11/01 Twin Towers attack.
