Reveling in the Sickness

eye for an eye justice
the hallmark of authoritarians:
fascists, one-true-faithists,
and patriots of any stripe

‘conservative values’
the worship of authority
and fear of change
punish anything different

only appropriate punishments
for any infractions are old
testament eye for an eye
and death

as the kool aid drinkers
revel in the sickness
hanging and burning
those of us who resist

who see a different path
