The Move, The Journey (1/2)

We drove to St. Louis for the first leg of our move to Tucson, where we met Ian and his good friend Kristine for dinner before we continued on. We had a pleasant dinner and conversation. Plus I had a couple of paintings that I had set aside for Ian riding in the back of the car with Ming, including the original charcoal and graphite piece, Inigma, which I’d promised to him when I’d rendered it back in 2015 (I think…).

Getting out of St. Louis took us longer than I’d anticipated. So I was dead tired by the time we got close to Joplin. We spent the night in a motel and left early the next morning, taking a little detour to Arkansas to visit Tina’s daughter, Robin, who had moved there the previous year. Robin wanted her mother to see her new place. So we spent a few hours there before continuing on.

Our next overnight stop was in Amarillo, TX, where we found a cowboy-themed restaurant for a late dinner. I don’t remember what we had, but I do remember that it satisfied our empty stomachs.

To be Continued
