November’s first all day rain
chilling to the bone as it
soaks the thirsty ground

rain waters flow in the streets
and washes looking like
fords in shallow creeks

vehicles create giant
roostertails through the
flooded intersections

soaking everything and
anyone in the water’s
arching range

parched plants and ground
sigh in relief with Tucson’s first
all day November rain
