Natural

If we are part of nature…

and there’s no real reason to think otherwise,
then, what is ‘natural’ and what is not?

Isn’t the whole universe ‘natural’,
evolved through the ‘laws’ of its existential nature?

Then, intelligence and ‘artifice’ in all their forms
are also part of nature, and natural.

So, what is ‘natural’ and what is not
in the whole universe/multiverse?

Everything is ‘natural’
Nothing is not …

Our human conceit that we are in charge,
defines things we don’t like as ‘not natural’.

But like everything else in the universe,
we too will one day blink out,

by ecocide, genocide, or suicide, individually or en masse.
And like it or not, that’s natural too.

Whether sooner or later,
as Sol eventually becomes a red giant,

taking mother earth inside itself, or when
Andromeda crashes into our Milky Way,

or at the very end, when it’s all sucked, screaming and kicking
into the giant black hole at the center of the universe,

everything blinking out.
And if it’s natural to blink out, then it’s just as natural to

blink back in, starting fresh…

No?

This idea of the universe blinking in and out (Eternal Cycle) comes from Vedic Philosophy, some of which I’ve incorporated into my worldview ever since coming across it many years ago.

Eternal cycle:
The universe is not seen as having a single beginning or end, but rather as undergoing endless cycles of creation, preservation, and destruction.
