Last Ride Of 2024
marbled blue sky
misty mountains silhouetted
in the southern morning haze
mountains to the north and west
spotlit by the morning sun
every feature crystal clear
their ramparts near
many of the tree limbs are bare
with grasses and shrubs turned
brown or dark green-gray
no animals crossed our path today
except a single bird of prey
circling lazily over the dry wash
rode through a park near the freeway with
heavy traffic, harried and hurrying to their
New Year’s celebrations
I suppose

It is, and yes, that’s what I’ve been riding since 2021, about 4,500 miles ago…
There are more and more electric, motorized versions out these days. The only motor on mine is the one pounding in my core. It’s great exercise…; -)
