Bird Of Prey

falcon sitting warily in the driveway
pinning ruffling feathers and a wing
in strong talons, to the gravel-way
scimitar beak slicing and dicing

eyes me warily as I park the car
moves dinner out of my reach
continues watching as I leave the site
returns to dinner-prep in lieu of flight

a quick gaze at me seemed to say
find your own, go away
