Dark Puddle On The Driveway

dark puddle on the driveway
but no
opens bright yellow cat-eyes

found a cool spot in the shade
then melted
into the pavement

absorbing all the light
a void in space-time
until bright golden eyes 

surveyed me warily
but with interest
perhaps I brought

or was … dinner
