Sculpting The Green

This is part of a longer piece written in late Spring 2012, but this section well describes the present moment

1 Sweat of the World

The sweat of the world on my shoulders and brow
dripping off my nose and down my back,
burning my eyes, soaking my clothes,
where any hint of a breeze soothes and frees me.

Lawn sculpting done; to what end, to what end?
Temporarily ordered space of green,
so calming to the mind’s eye, the human eye,
one and the same, yes one and the same…

a cold pale brew to help cool my fevered brow,
my sweat dripping brow, ease the light headedness,
hoping for a breeze, any breeze,
even in this forenoon…the brew refreshes and soothes.

Lawn sculpting; to what end, to what end?
With the sweat of the world on my shoulders and brow,
dripping off my nose and down my back,
burning my eyes, soaking my clothes.
