stomach juices oozing
getting ready for that
meal – that habitual meal

intellect dictates that
I can go for days
without food

no real harm

stomach juices keep
telling my brain
I’m hungry
I’m starving
I’m dying

just habit

PS: I’ve been ‘intermittent fasting’ for years, but it’s been awhile since I did a water fast for one or two days. So, my one-day fast, started with the end of supper last night till breakfast tomorrow morning, has already engaged my ‘anticipation syndrome’.
