Riding And Sweating

clear cerulean dome
with no clouds
scanning Sol’s barcode
from the seat of
my tadpole trike
generates a 401 error

yellow Mesquite blooms
are now mostly gone
replaced by an abundance
of seed pods 
decorating their long
leafy-green bows

Palo Verde in full bloom
their seed pods to arrive soon
as a third or fourth iteration of
Brittlebush is blossoming
and now, Desert Marigolds
and Mallow

the dry Santa Cruz riverbed
displays the tracks of
immigrant and homeless masses
moving north and south
a highway with few
obstacles to overcome

almost too many
walkers and riders
out today
working on their tans
or just sweating
away
