Success?

If propagating the species
Is a mark of success
Then, that I am
Having bread children

And in the process
I’ve not killed or injured
Anyone mortally
That I know of

As for improving
Humanity’s lot
Contribute my meager
Input the best I can

In the long view
Was it worth the effort
And occasional pleasures
Future generations will decide

Don’t want to go out
With a bag or a whimper
But with a satisfied
Grin and peaceful oblivion
