An Early Morning Tucson Ride In The Latter Days Of May
The bright Tucson morning sun
Defines everything in our
Foreground as we roll by
While the surrounding mountains
Are silhouettes behind misty-blue vails
Too early for the mists to have burned off
But closer peaks and mounds like
Tumamac (the horned lizard)
And A Mountain stand sharply revealed
Crystal clear
In Sol’s morning glare
While the surrounding ranges
Remain but silhouettes
Behind veils
Misty and blue
Put me in a whimsical mood
