I took a little 4-day vacation for my birthday. Went to see the famous London Bridge. The following is the result of my little reprieve…; -)
London Bridge Is Falling Down
Well, not anymore. Because it was falling down (so to speak), a new bridge was built to replace it. The old bridge was sold to an American industrialist, Robert McCullough, who had it disassembled and transported to Lake Havasu AZ, where it was reassembled on a peninsula on the western shore of the lake. Then, a channel was dug under the bridge, forming a small island on the western side of the bridge. McCullough planned and built Lake Havasu City on the 26 square miles he purchased around the lake.
The bridge was purchased in 1968. The rebuild was completed and had its grand opening in October 1971.
To be continued
