The Lamposts on London Bridge were created from the melted down cannons of Napoean Bonaparte.
This bridge stood across the Thames from 1831 to 1967. It wasn’t really ‘falling down’, but due to modern traffic, it was sinking in the riverbed.
Since the bridge opened at Lake Havasu, a so-called ‘English Village’ (read, tourist-trap) was built around it, with shops (selling touristy junk), restaurants (mostly American cuisine), and ‘pubs’ (American bars). Some might accuse me of cynicism, but I’m just reporting what I saw.
But, that aside, it was a relaxing and educational experience.
