Regardless of what a whole genre of music might have you think, not every day is ‘blue’.
Sure, we all have ‘blue’ days from time to time, but they are not eternal, regardless of some musicians’ sentiments.
There is a continuum waving between the poles of deep ‘blues’ and high hopes, or even satisfaction. It’s constantly in motion. Sometimes, it takes a long slow detour into depression, while other times into giddy mania. If you’re stuck in any part of that wave, you may be suffering from an illness. But most of us pass through those poles from time to time.
The only constant in life is change. We need to be ready to adapt to changing conditions sooner rather than later to preserve our equilibrium.
That’s where being a cynical optimist, like myself, comes in handy… a malleable core, based in optimism and hope, coated with hardened and finely honed reality-based cynicism, creating a razor sharp weapon for cutting through the ‘BS’, political, social, and philosophical. Thus, I go by the moniker, CynOp.
Until next time…
