Dreams

There are dreams
And there are dreams
Depending on your definition

Some call aspirations, creative goals
Physical, mental, social,  economic
Dreams, but really, only remote possibilities

Then there are the Sandman dreams
The subconscious cleansing of
The brain, while in sleep-mode

The dust devil cleansing
Land of Morpheus dreams
Are more preferable to me than

The waking nightmare we inhabit daily
While climate, society, and ‘civilization’
Push us into subjugation and extinction

So, you can keep your aspirational dreamers
Give me the Sandman and
The realms of Morpheus anyday
