Morning Ride Meditation

Riding the Tucson Loop
A meditative experience 
Am present in the sunshine
The only breeze generated
By my pedaling
On this still morning

The sky canvas is
Washed blue with
Semi-dry China white’n’grayish
Brush strokes
Here and there in
The southern sky

The ring of mountains
Around the Tucson basin
Rendered sharp and clear
Their occasional crenelations
Giving the impression of
Walled fortifications

Skinks and Roadrunners
Continually crisscrossing the path
With no reason nor rhyme

Not many other meditators
In motion on this fine
Summer day
