Wisdom And Knowledge

They are different
You know

One definition:
Wisdom is old knowledge
Applied to the new

But what is knowledge really?
Linked neurons in a brian
Based on perceptions
Flawed in the main
Recorded and stored
In clay, ink, and digitally

What we call ‘facts’
Based on fictions
Invented by humans
To explain what we perceive

But, as some deep thinkers see
There are no facts
Just perceptions of reality
Whichever ones hold sway
Matters of power
Not truth – Nietzsche
I’m afraid I agree

So what is the knowledge required
For wisdom’s specialities?

Whatever keeps one alive and
Relatively happy and free

PS: Yes, this poem is based on my understanding of the writings of people like Nietzsche and Yuval Noah Harrai (Sapiens and Homo Deus). But then again, we’re all only human…; -)
