Snipers

called heroes
in this day and age
by governments
that employ them
to take down their
enemies and
any dissent

in times gone by
they were not glorified
but identified as
what they were
bushwackers
killing from the shadows
a cowardly chore

so raise your glass
salute the bushwackers
they’ll eliminate so
many, many more
