Carried Weapons vs Living Weapons

Carried Weapons vs Living Weapons

People claim they feel safe
Carrying knives or guns
They’ve practiced long
For ease and accuracy

But sometimes
Leave them at home
Don’t carry them
Around the house
Much

Then when out and about
A practiced ne’er-do-well
Out of the blue
Snatches your beloved
Pistol or knife
And uses it on you

There’s always someone out there
Better than you
You just hope
They’re not against you

Or

You can refuse to carry
Weapons of any kind

Because you are
A living weapon
Trained in weaponless
Fighting arts
Which no one can
Take from you
Use against you
Your training
Always with you
At home or abroad

And again

There’s always someone out there
Better than you
You just hope
They’re not against you

PS: When I was a child (I was small and wore glasses from age 3 on), the school yard was a living hell. I was regularly picked-on and frequently set upon walking home (creating unnatural fear of my peers). So, I became a ‘living weapon’ with many years of martial arts training and competition (which eliminated my fears over the years, realizing – eventually – that I could control most situations and their outcomes)… also trained with carried weapons should ever the need arise … it never has…; -)

Also: I have met a few women while training over the years who could easily beat me in a fight or match. They were much more flexible, agile, and technically better than I am. They usually let me at least feel like I was a challenge to them … others, not so much… Then there were those who could drop me with a glance – no martial expertise required. I’ve learned (the hard way) to keep my distance, give them a wide berth. Fortunately for me, none of them have ever been motivated to attack me on the street…; -)~
