Typical for Tucson, even when there are the occasional raindrop splats on my windshield…; -)
Another False Promise
gathering clouds and
darkening skies
thunder rolling far and wide
but there is no rain
just a little sky-spital
dappling the front walkway
the promise of rain
just another lie
as the sun glows bright
low in the far western sky
sunbows tint the gray

PS: After heckling and trolling the sky goddess all summer, she finally opened the rain spigot a couple of nights after I wrote this… but of course…; -)

Lol…isn’t that the way it always goes—some cosmic force out to prove us wrong? Around here, when you beg for rain, when you finally get it, usually it’s a deluge lasting days, then when you want sunny skies, you get a drought. Go figure…

Perhaps the ‘sane’ course would be to just refrain from asking, since whatever will be will be…; -)
