Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).
I’d have to say that it was my Bachelors degree, both in terms of money, personal grief, and family/relationship upheaval. And, in truth, I doubt that it was worth the time, expense, and all the grief that went with it.
I was never able to get a full-time job in my area of training (which the prominent college I attended promised me I’d have no trouble in acquiring after graduation — a sales-pitch lie) and ended my working career out of temp agencies.
So, it was the most expensive item I ever purchased for myself (and my family, was supposed to secure good employment for me as long as I wished to be employed).
Other than that, I’ve maintained tight control over what little money I’ve been able to acquire over my career… And when I’m gone, there’ll be nothing left. In fact, I hope my last check bounces…; -)
