The Inevitable End
Though I may not be
The sharpest crayon in the box
A modicum of intellect resides
It occurs to me that reason
And desires can rationalize
Almost anything
The resulting reprieves
At best temporary
Don’t mitigate the end
As all things do
So it is said
With a whimper or bang
Even the ‘eternal’ universe
Though we won’t see it
Will eventually reach its
Inevitable end
