More Winter Haiku
Sparrows swarm in trees;
dim light, cold windy morning —
a lone bluejay calls.
Cold windy shoreline —
Blue heron stands on one leg,
head hunched in shoulders.
Sliding down the road,
antilock brakes’s staccato —
black ice beckoning.
Slaming the car door,
snow-dust covers my face —
Jack Frost mocking me!
