Arbiter And Curator
A New Year’s Meditation

Akkam’s razor suggests
that the simplest answer
is often correct and the best

that seems a good blueprint
for a simple and minimalist lifestyle
collecting and keeping only
what is truly needed and desired

not acquiring for acquisition’s sake
nor to lord it over those with ‘less’
taking more than one needs
seems immoral to me

each individual must surely be
both arbiter and curator of the
mental, spiritual, psychic, and
physical artifacts, gracing
our homes and mental mansions

we are the sole arbiters
and curators of our living temples
gifts of our living universe
