End Of March Tucson Loop Ride

rode out in the misty morning
hazy sun trying to focus in
mountains nearly invisible
in the horizon’s mists

the Polo Verde spring festival
in full swing for the next few weeks
early bloomers standing over
their amarillo umbras
almost a reversal of
normal light and shade

saw one bird of prey
hurtling into the dry riverbed
no results were forthcoming
but plenty of morning doves
and Bobble-headed pigeons
crossed our path along the way

only a few walkers
dog-walkers and jogers
out this early misty morning
this final Sunday of March

so, I’ll pick up the narrative
next time
on the flip side
