Save Our VA Tucson Protest 4/10/26 – One Year Anniversary
Three of us anchored the picket line at the Tucson VA’s Ajo gate for the morning shift change. We arrived at 6:30am and left around 9:45am.
This was the one year anniversary of the Friday morning, Save Our VA Tucson protests. There was a rally right across the street from us that started around 9:30am, with a protest march of between 50 and 100 marchers, from the West, or 6th Ave gate to the Ajo gate and across the street to the anniversary rally. The rally promised a couple of political speakers, schmoozing, and some music. Since I have no tolerance for ‘politicos’ self-serving rambling and ranting, we left just after the rally started.
We had a similar response rate to what we’ve had for the last few weeks (75-85%), perhaps a few more. Only two definite negatives that I saw, one bouncing bird and one shaking his head ‘no’… But still too many noncommittals for any ‘tipping point’ that would initiate any kind of profound change…
