Where Are You When We Need You, Lamont? 7 of 7
But I’m old now, and the only thing that I, or anyone, can do to fight the growing darkness is to strike a spark, a match, a candle, a bonfire, when and wherever an opportunity presents itself. We make choices every day that either brighten or darken our respective futures and our common future. Make no mistake; each of our decisions and actions has consequences, impacts toward an ever brighter civilization, or back to our dark, superstitious, primordial beginnings, a reverse evolution, as our social species devolves.
Where are you when we need you, Lamont? (We are all Lamont!)
PS: for those who don’t get the reference to Lamont, it’s Lamont Cranston, the alter-ego of The Shadow.
End?

Your words shine bright. I am aware of the Shadow, but know very little about him. This was a very nice series, a fascinating journey as you walked from past to present, and beyond. I do not know how much change I can make with my small everyday decisions, but I’ll try to be more careful about them from now on.

Thank you, Tanmay. I’m pleased you found it interesting. To paraphrase an old aphorism, a mountain is moved one or two pebbles at a time… For most of us, our decisions are, or at least seem, quite small in our daily lives, but the cumulative effects can move mountains… figuratively, politically, socially, spiritually, our whole zeitgeist… IMHO… The Shadow was originally a radio program that my family listened to when I was quite young. Then the novels shortly followed, which I read over the years until they were no longer published… They were fun…

I think he appeared as a guest in some comic book I read. I will have to look for these novels.
