Warm Day in February
Mellow jazz in
the background
dog barking at his
shadow or mine
or some invisible
presence on
the wind
in the shadows
who knows
75 degree upper
Sonoran winter
dry-heat day
the scent of
sage smudge
all around me
ready to drift
away
maybe a visit
from the Yaqui
medicine man
or perhaps my
old friend Mary J
maybe I need
a Sonoran cheese
crisp first tide
me over till
the main meal
after sunset
may get
surreal
who can say?

I said goodbye to my old friend Mary J a long time ago. Glad to know she’s still doing alright π Nice poem, Liam. A very slow, warm and peaceful vibe. I enjoyed it.
