The Primordial Ooze
the darkness is
growing and I’m old
so what to do
one thing only
fight the growing
dark strike a spark
a match a candle
light a bonfire
spark it
wherever opportunity
presents tinder
make daily choices
that brighten not
darken our
collective
futures
don’t be deceived
all actions have
costs impact
ever brighter
futures or breed
dark superstitions
reverse evolution
sliding back into the
primordial ooze

Lovely overture of hope, Liam. You’ve definitely lit a spark with this poem. The tinder will come.

As Iβm old as well, I fight the dark daily, always searching for that spark that keeps me keeping on. I create (something or other), therefore, I am. π
Wonderful poem and abstract, Liam. I like the photo tooβlots of energy there.

Thank you, Jai… I appreciate your reading. My ‘spark’, I suspect is similar to yours, though I do try to throw some sand in the system’s gears whenever opportunity provides…; -)

I’m sure you recognize the lines from a Dylan Thomas poem.
You, my friend, live those words.
Wild abstract, Liam. I admire your ability to render them. I guess my mind is too ordered. I can’t do abstracts without the use of Photoshop.

Yes, I’m very familiar with that poem, written to commemorate his father’s death, if memory serves.
As for my abstracts, at least the ones like this one are stream of consciousness doodles… Maybe I did too much acid, mushrooms, or peyote in my youth…; -)

lol…maybe so. I think I’ve told you that I’ve never in my life ever partook of marijuana, let alone any harder drugs. I’ve always enjoyed mixed drinks, though, but never did a whole lot of that. I absolutely love a good margarita, and have one occasionally.

Haven’t done hallucinogens since the late 70s, but gummies to help me sleep occationally; and yes, a good margarita is always appreciated, though I seldomd have those anymore either…; -)
