Never heard of the place, but sounds interesting.
Speaking of Bogie and Bacall, l love both the movie and song “Key Largo”. ❤️ The song makes my heart hurt. 💙😢

I’ve been there twice in the last 10 years. They have an old-fashioned Thanksgiving feast there for the holiday… considered going, but didn’t make it; out of my price range. I have always liked the song ‘Key Largo’, too…; -)

I’d like to see the Hemingway House on Key West, but as of yet, haven’t been farther into Florida than Destin. My son and his wife toured it several years ago on a vacation to the Keys.
The Thanksgiving feast sounds nice. Anything good that I don’t have to cook does, anymore. 😊

Haven’t been there either… would be interesting. My farthest incursion into FL has been Datona, Orlando, and Tampa… Oh well. I can empathize with your cooking sentiment…; -)

Throughout both marriages, I used to make most meals from scratch. I especially liked Italian dishes, even made homemade French bread. It’s a simple recipe, but from start to table, takes about 3 1/2hours. After years and years of cooking, it got to be a pain. I still cook dinner once or twice a week, but now, mainly have Stouffer or Marie Callender do the cooking. 😊

I’ve always done some cooking through my marriages, and now do most of it. I actually enjoy it most of the time. Of course, it’s easier now that I’m vegan…; -)

I don’t eat much meat, but still enjoy a good steak or hamburger every once in a while.
One of my favorite meals is from my childhood—pinto beans, fried potatoes, and cornbread slathered with real butter.

Sounds very tasty. I’m currently eating plant-based whole food only, with no highly processed foods, dairy, meat, or oils… going on 6 months now, I was vegitarian before, mostly ‘mediteranian diet’…; -)

I can easily forego any food but dairy and bread (I make my own). As I’ve gotten older, I’ve grown intolerant to so many foods that I’ve lost count. There are times my stomach can’t handle anything but skim milk and bread. I’ve been told by allergists that it’s a cross I’ll just have to bear because of being born a redhead. 🙄

Doesn’t work for me either, it seems. 🙁 The one I tried to link to had a montage of Bogie and Becall images.

If Key Largo is playing over the images and movie clips then that’s the one…; -)

That’s the one!
I’ve loved a few men in my life, but never had a relationship like theirs, though I know from reading about Bogart’s life that it had its ups and downs.

Yes, and if I recall, he was considerably older than she was…; -)

I’ll have to check my settings. I thought one could allow up to two links in a comment.
