Angry Lake Erie (a recollection)
Nighttime on a north Ohio coastline
Dark gray clouds scudding eastward
Twelve-foot luminous gray waves
Washing over the concrete
Breakwall
No rain … yet
Maybe yes, maybe no
Wind blows cold through my clothes
Hair whipping over my shoulders
As I face her voracious howl
Erie’s angry tirade lasts
The whole night
But I came down and slept
Through her final huffs
To calm reflections by morning’s light

Brrrrr…your words make me feel the cold. Do you like Arizona better? I told 2nd husband I’d like to live in Arizona, after our second trip to the tourist attractions there (And yes, I stood on the corner of Winslow Arizona) and on out to the Grand Canyon. He thought it too hot though.
