La Fiesta de los Vaqueros – Tucson Rodeo

La Fiesta de los VAQUEROS – Tucson Rodeo

Rodeo was this weekend. This is the rodeo’s 99th year in Tucson. The Rodeo Parade started at 9 am. on Thurday. Schools were closed on Thursday and Friday, so kids could attend the rodeo. The rodeo ends on Sunday. I rode my recumbent to the parade and took a few pictures… Hope you like…; -)

About to begin –LE

The parade lasted 2 hrs. These are only a few of the hundred or so pictures I took…; -)

Tucson Rodeo is around this time every year. Next year is the 100-year anniversary!

      • I envy you…I’d like to live in your part of the country. I’ve visited both Arizona and New Mexico and love the climate and lay of the land, all that uncluttered space.

      • What you say about the southwest is true, and I’m pleased to be here. But it’s becoming unaffordable. It’s becoming more and more a migration point for the very rich in this country, and the anual ‘snowbirds’… There aren’t many decent paying jobs, and the homeless are everywhere. Tucson isn’t as bad-off as other cities in the region, but it’s headed that way…; -)

      • Well, I guess I should count my blessing because I live in a city where there aren’t so many homeless people that social services can’t care for them….no tents on the streets. And there are good jobs to be had for those who want to work, and the cost of living isn’t as bad as in other parts of the country. But I know so many once-beautiful cities in the US are going to hell in a hand-basket. So sad, and doubly so since it didn’t have to happen.
