St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day

A brewer’s success tale
In shades of kelley green
And Black and Tan’s brown
Green beer in pubs all around

Too many claim Irish for the day
Too many Kiss me, I’m Irish tees
St. Patty’s Day parades abound
Usually, a huge letdown

And the snakes he drove out
Of the emerald Isles
Abound everywhere else
He left strife north and south

As the empire struck back
With Protestant landlords
Plundering the land
The lads and the lasses

So, enjoy your brews
Green, honeyed, or brown
To mention a few, while I
Indulge Jameson’s 18 year

Coffee and cream
