A Confluence of Idiots

A true parody, self righteous, self absorbed,
in crowded parking lots both here and abroad,
trolling the spaces closest the door,
wasting my precious time, and yours.

Potential spot sighted… must stop the flow,
must have this one, no other will do,
creates a bottleneck so no one can move,
the Cadillac’s too close; exiting truck can’t squeeze through.

The traffic flow is stalled, trollers circling,
preventing our leaving as they inch along the outer rim,
waiting any movement in the clogged lanes,
idiots waiting to leave – who cares?

Heading for the exit, those previous trolls now eager to leave,
and new ones spilling in, cut in front with no regard,
must be first to the light, first stopped on red,
self righteous, self absorbed, oblivious of their roles

in a perfect confluence – of idiots, how droll.
