Facade
What shall I wear today
What face will I display
What body of tolerance
Or frustration will exude
The carefully prepared
Contours of my
Facade
Whether we want to
Admit it or not
Our face, our projected
Self is reapplied
Each and every day
Artfully, or not, our rendered
Facade
Some get discouraged
Or just lazy
Keep the same one going
Day after day, as
Creativity wanes as elites
Constantly undermine
Humanity’s soul
Thus, the existential need
For more than just one
Social and elemental
Facade

PS: I suspect that most will deny having a facade, much less regenerating it each and every day. But, look around. How can any of us survive in a stilted, controlled environment intended and directed specifically to undermine and stifle human sociallity, community, and benevolence without a very good, strong, and (mostly) believable facade?

One response to “Facade”
We all have a persona to present to the world around us.
