Apartment complexes
And condos popping
Up all over Town

Even though there’s
Not enough water
To go around

With ever decreasing
Supplies from the
Colorado River Compact

As it dries
It’s lakes and tributaries
Die

As the show
Continues to
Unfold

As ever increasing
Hosts of homeless divert
To the dry riverbed

And lounge across
The paths with broken
Shopping carts in underpasses

With horrific accidents imminent
Because of the religious cult
Of capitalist profits and greed
