Yes, and while I enjoyed the performing (locally, off and on for about 15 years), I ended up hating the ‘business’ aspects of performing (managers, bookings, marketing) and the whole ‘music scene’ of those times. I’ve also read some of my verses at different poetry ‘slams’ (venues). But I don’t do it much anymore. It’s lost its ‘luster’ for me…; -)

Too often, those venues are flooded by ‘poets’ who spew little but hatred, discotent, and youthful angst. And very little in the way of ingenious (or even, intereesting) word-play or deep emotional or intellectual insight. So, I don’t even enjoy going, never mind listening…

Oh well, I’ll get off my soapbox now…; -)~
