Distrust

Distrust

Distrust names the game
Leaders betray us for gain
Our demise and pain

Once you are betrayed
You are never quite the same
Trust, a fatal aim

To overcome it
Compassion must take the reins
As empathy plays

But

Never trust Mandarins
Their appetites unsated
Don’t care about us

At all, only wealth
Power and their own status
The elite, the ‘cream’

Trust and forgive friends
Not the weaselly mandarins
Fast-tracking our end

Distrust everyone in whom the impulse to punish is powerful!

  1. It’s sad, but the vast majority of those in power are only interested in power and money, not we the people. If there is some sort of existence when we die, maybe they’ll pay then. Karma is a bitch, I’ve heard.

    • Agreed, but I’m not convinced of anything after death, including Karma… even though the rest of life on earth and the universe seem to be consistently revolving in cycles, seldom (if ever) a true ending, just a sometimes gap and a new beginning or continuation (poles in the dance of life/death)… I guess we’ll find out when age and time demand our dues…; -)

      • So would most, I think. That’s a subject that we could get very philosophical about. I’ve come to think that life and death are poles of the process, ‘the cycle of life and death’… Can’t have one without the other. Any other states or planes of existence have yet to be proven, at least for me. But I’m not saying they don’t exist, nor that the ideas I hold are any better than anyone else’s. So, to each his or her own … I guess we’ll find out when we get there…; -)
