Where Are We – Am I?
a matter of perception, meditating at one
or fighting, kicking, and screaming
regardless, ends as do all things
entropy’s final dissolution
yes, some flash-out, burn-out, peter-out, wink-out
filter-out, turn-out, poop-out, but most
simply end in Elliot’s infamous ‘whimper’
so it seems

I immediately thought of this from T. S. Eliot, the final stanza of the poem “The Hollow Men”—This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.”
Are you channeling him, Liam?😊

No, not ‘channeling’, but that poem was definitely on my mind when I wrote my verses… I’m pleased you got the reference…; -)

I have a lot of poetry books, but I don’t think I have one of T. S. Eliot’s. I’ll have to remedy that.
