The Airways And Digital Byways – A Panicked ‘Dingdong’

The Airways And Digital Byways – A Panicked ‘Dingdong’

Airways and digital byways
Filled with ancient triggers
Anger, fear, and suspicion
Point accusing fingers
Scapegoating those whose
Power is little-to-none

Hard to discern who to trust
Loudest voices in any room
Filled with conviction and bravado
Seem righteous and strong
Claim to have been right all along
With malicious accusations and ad hominems

Divide and conquer
Elitists’ strategy of old
No innovative solutions
Just old bigot tropes
Whistles for the baying hounds
Hope we don’t notice the true villains above

But they don’t quite pass muster
The smell is off or completely wrong
Feels more like begging and pleading
A desperate search for approval
Validation through dance and song
The vibe more a panicked ‘dingdong’
